WILLIAM ILECKI, B.A., J.D.
William Ilecki is a partner in the firm of Chiari & Ilecki, LLP, practicing in the areas of retail/commercial litigation, creditor’s rights, foreclosure, regulatory compliance, and bankruptcy. A 1989 graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law, he received his undergraduate education at Canisius College, graduating in 1986 (magna cum laude, All-College Honors Program). Since 1990, Mr. Ilecki has been admitted to practice law in the States of New York and Pennsylvania. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court and Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of New York, and Peacemaker Court for the Seneca Nation of Indians. He is a former President and Board Member of the Erie County Bar Foundation. He is a member of the Erie County Bar Association (Banking and Commercial Law Committee), New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the National Creditors Bar Association.
He has frequently lectured on collections and bankruptcy law before Attorneys, Sheriffs, Credit Union, Banking, and other creditor groups; and for the National Business Institute’s “Consumer Debt Collection” Seminars. He also served as President of the Western New York Credit Association.
He is the author of the Procedures chapter in the New York State Bar Association’s 2008 publication Debt Collection and the Enforcement of Money Judgments. He is also the co-author of the What is a Debt Collection Case? chapter, and author of the Enforcement of Money Judgments chapter, both of the New York State Bar Association’s publication New York Lawyer’s Deskbook, Second Edition.
MELISSA L. OVERBECK, B.A., J.D.
Melissa Overbeck is an associate attorney with the firm of Chiari & Ilecki, LLP, practicing in the areas of commercial litigation, creditors’ rights, landlord-tenant, and bankruptcy. A native of Western New York, she graduated from the Honors Program at Medaille College in December 2007 with a degree in Psychology, and from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law in 2011. She is admitted to practice in the United States District Court and Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of New York.
Melissa has been employed with Chiari & Ilecki, LLP since 2008. She has presented to various Credit Unions and Sheriff’s Departments throughout New York State on the topic of creditors’ rights, and attends the yearly Credit Union National Association conference.
COLLEEN MULVANEY, B.A., J.D.
Colleen Mulvaney is an attorney at the firm of Chiari & Ilecki, LLP, practicing in the areas of civil litigation, creditor’s rights, and landlord-tenant law. A 2010 graduate of the Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law, she received her undergraduate education at Canisius College, graduating in 2007. In 2010, Ms. Mulvaney was admitted to practice law in the State of Florida. After returning from Florida, Ms. Mulvaney worked for the City of Buffalo Common Council President, David A. Franczyk. Ms. Mulvaney was admitted to practice law in the State of New York in 2012. In 2013, she became associated with the firm, the Law Offices of Elizabeth R. Wellborn, P.A., practicing in the area of foreclosure representing various large banks. She joined Chiari & Ilecki, LLP in 2015. She is a member of the Erie County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, and the Florida Bar.
Antoinette has been working for Chiari & Ilecki, LLP since 2010. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the State University of Buffalo and is a certified Paralegal.
Karen received an Associates Degree in Applied Science—Paralegal studies from Erie Community College. Karen also attended Bryant and Stratton Business Institute. Karen was employed with the firm of Dubin & Sommerstein for 18 years prior to joining Chiari & Ilecki, LLP in 2013.
KRISTIAN L. BROWN
Kristian has been a Legal Assistant for Chiari & Ilecki, LLP since April of 2013. Previously she worked for First Niagara Bank and HSBC Bank as a Commercial Customer Service Representative and Head Teller. She is currently pursuing her Paralegal Degree.
Tiera’s position started in 2015 as an internship in her senior year of high school at Mount St. Mary Academy. After transferring to a college closer to home, she rejoined the firm as a legal assistant in the summer of 2017. She is currently still pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science.
